Crime 101 (2026) 86% 3/4 EDIT “engrossing star-stacked work” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Feb 12, 2026 Full Review Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die (2025) 84% 2/4 EDIT “At best, if watched later at home, it may be a reason to put your phone down, at least intermittently.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Feb 12, 2026 Full Review GOAT (2026) 81% 2/4 EDIT “GOAT is an example of what we’ll call short-attention-span theater, a flick too busy throwing stuff against the wall, with too little of it sticking, to find its emotional core.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Feb 12, 2026 Full Review Shelter (2026) 63% 2/4 EDIT “There is nothing egregiously bad about "Shelter," as uninspired as it too often feels.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Feb 12, 2026 Full Review 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 92% 2.5/4 EDIT “As with its predecessor, The Bone Temple holds your interest while seemingly having disappointingly little to say about humanity as viewed through this horrifying lens.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Feb 12, 2026 Full Review I Was a Stranger (2024) 76% 3/4 EDIT “I Was a Stranger is the undeniably impressive — and, at times, heartbreaking — feature debut of writer-director Brandt Andersen, who adapted it from his award-winning short film Refugee.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Feb 12, 2026 Full Review The Plague (2025) 97% 3/4 EDIT “olinger skillfully blurs the line between childhood nonsense and reality in a really potent and, at times, downright chilling way.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Dec 31, 2025 Full Review We Bury the Dead (2024) 88% 2/4 EDIT “No doubt at least in part to what appears to have been a relatively limited budget, this is more of a character study than a thriller based around heart-pounding encounters with hordes of mindless hungry types.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Dec 31, 2025 Full Review Goodbye June (2025) 65% 2.5/4 EDIT “Rises only to the level of fine.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Dec 31, 2025 Full Review Song Sung Blue (2025) 78% 3.5/4 EDIT “This is one extended song that, after sucking you in with a catchy hook, changes the tenor, the tone, the tempo and straps you in for a ride on an emotional roller coaster.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Dec 31, 2025 Full Review The Housemaid (2025) 74% 2.5/4 EDIT “While it certainly touches on some of the ugliness that exists in the world, this sexy, twisty adaptation of Freida McFadden’s 2022 bestseller of the same name is a big, tasty bowl of mostly empty calories.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Dec 17, 2025 Full Review Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) 66% 2.5/4 EDIT “If you’re planning to see Fire and Ash, find the biggest screen you can and fork over the extra dough for 3-D. And if you find something meaningful in the story, consider that a bonus.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Dec 17, 2025 Full Review Hamnet (2025) 86% 3/4 EDIT “A naturalistic, largely quiet and intimate affair that invites you in for a slice of storytelling decidedly lacking in frills.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Dec 8, 2025 Full Review The Thing with Feathers (2025) 46% 1.5/4 EDIT “It's a tough watch.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 27, 2025 Full Review Zootopia 2 (2025) 91% 3/4 EDIT “Zootopia 2 keeps what worked about its predecessor while telling a rather ambitious story at a brisk clip.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 27, 2025 Full Review Wicked: For Good (2025) 66% 3.5/4 EDIT “When you scrape away all of that shiny production design and the rest of the dazzling dazzle, Chu, Erivo and Grande have given the world a tale of friendship that should be cherished for years to come. Consider gravity sufficiently defied.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 27, 2025 Full Review The Running Man (2025) 62% 2/4 EDIT “Watching it left us increasingly worn out by its excesses. Not counting the credits, the movie is just over two hours long, but it feels longer — even as its relentless pace ensures it never drags.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 27, 2025 Full Review Now You See Me: Now You Don't (2025) 60% 2.5/4 EDIT “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t pulls one of the oldest tricks in the movie franchise book: the infusion of new blood.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 14, 2025 Full Review Predator: Badlands (2025) 86% 3/4 EDIT “It helps that Trachtenberg paces the film briskly, never allowing the action-heavy proceedings to become bogged down. The movie clocks in well under two hours, and we are not complaining.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 6, 2025 Full Review Ballad of a Small Player (2025) 49% 2/4 EDIT “The film’s final stretch, while not revelatory, is somewhat more satisfying than much of what comes before it, but it’s not enough reason to give this film a strong recommendation.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 4, 2025 Full Review Bugonia (2025) 88% 3/4 EDIT “Lanthimos turns himself loose in this final act, delivering scenes that undoubtedly only he could.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Nov 4, 2025 Full Review Regretting You (2025) 29% 2/4 EDIT “Early on, Regretting You pulls you into its tale of tragedy and betrayal. By the end, though, the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2019 novel all but coats you in sap.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Oct 24, 2025 Full Review Black Phone 2 (2025) 72% 2.5/4 EDIT “Black Phone 2 boasts enough reasons to answer its call, but as the powers that be seemingly could resurrect the Grabber anytime they like for what, you fear, could be increasingly unimpressive efforts, you may want to block its number moving forward.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Oct 17, 2025 Full Review After the Hunt (2025) 37% 3/4 EDIT “This is a film that pulls you in and refuses to let you go for more than two hours — and one likely to spark lively conversation afterward, however uncomfortable that conversation may be.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Oct 17, 2025 Full Review The Woman in Cabin 10 (2025) 28% 2.5/4 EDIT “The final stretch threatens to ruin a good thing, director and co-writer Simon Stone seemingly veering from what happens in the 2016 book in the name of generating dramatic fireworks for the viewer.” – The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Oct 10, 2025 Full Review
