It's been nearly two years since Superman's colossal battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne. The director’s cut exceptional and mature. This was the only film I’ve seen where Superman is so consistently challenged—not physically, but morally, emotionally, and psychologically—from start to finish: undermined, pre-judged, sabotaged, and questioned throughout. He resists as he did in Man of Steel, but here the pressure is relentless, pushing him to the edge, until near the end he breaks down, crying, and says, "No one stays good in this world," echoing the consequentialism and pragmatism his father, Jonathan, taught him—Jonathan representing pure consequentialism, Jor-El messianic Kryptonian ideals. Kal-El chooses to balance his parents’ consequentialism with Kryptonian hope, bearing the moral weight while being judged and manipulated by Lex Luthor across politics, judiciary, public opinion, and elites. Lex, meanwhile, creates a chessboard where: If Superman does nothing → guilty If he acts → also guilty he fights Batman → loses legitimacy he doesn’t fight → loses "his mother"

What a letdown this movie was. The story was too long and all over the place, the acting is subpar, and while the action had its moments, its too damn dark to see things well sometimes. It wants to be like the Dark Knight with its complex and deep plot, but it fails miserable at it. No wonder the rest of the DCU went for a more campy/humorous route, because the darker tone wasn't working.

It could have been an amazing movie had it not try to build shit characters in the background justice League. Biggest f up of this movie was casting that shitty actor as lex Luthor... I mean if that's not the worst casting ever I don't know what is. As soon as I seen him in the movie I almost walked out... Then I was like no give him a chance Nd boy was I wrong to not walk out
