TBH, I wasn't scared throughout, only slightly suspensed in the beginning, trying to figure out the lore. But, once the second half kicked in, I was getting bored and waiting for it to end. I was interested in the mystery at first, when we are first introduced to a suspect and a couple of minor hijinks. However, when it turned into an investigatory drama halfway through, the film became lackluster and predictable. The supporting characters making up the small town formed the world to feel more real, and I cared somewhat about our main family. The ending sequence though, which should be the climatic battle, felt cheesy. Some of the music score was somewhat laughable. If you just want alright horror movie fodder and are trying not to be scared (as my tolerance is already quite low), you can check it out, but it can get tedious and you may be checking your watch quite a bit.
