On paper everything about Ghosted should work. In practice this Ana de Armas/Chris Evans romcom actioner falls flat. Peppered with lazy storytelling and believability issues, Ghosted looks expensive but lacks substance.

Ghosted is even more bland and unoriginal than your typical Hallmark channel movie, with bad acting, terrible one-liners and a forgettable plot that fails miserably as it tries too hard to be too many things.

Was it the most intricate plot ever written? No. Was it trying to be? Also no. Ghosted is exactly what it sets out to be — a fun, fast-paced mix of action and humor that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Some of the "expert" reviews feel overly harsh for a film that never claimed to be the next Godfather. Not every movie needs to be profound to be enjoyable. Chris Evans is effortlessly charming and believable as the guy next door who would risk it all for someone he cares about. Ana de Armas continues to grow as an actress and holds her own in both the action and comedic moments. She isn’t quite clean with her delivery but she also has a language barrier. The cameos from Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie were cracked me up. Now the CIA part seemed thin but again - wasn’t expecting depth here. If you’re looking for light escapism, Ghosted delivers.

Jesus this was bad. Like horribly so. I hated this down to my very bone marrow. And I didn't think anything could've been worse than that movie Role Play. But hell, obviously this movie "overachieved".
