In 1991, talented figure skater Tonya Harding becomes the first American woman to complete a triple axel during a competition. In 1994, her world comes crashing down when her ex-husband conspires to injure Nancy Kerrigan, a fellow Olympic hopeful, in a poorly conceived attack that forces the young woman to withdraw from the national championship. Harding's life and legacy instantly become tarnished as she's forever associated with one of the most infamous scandals in sports history.

I really enjoyed I, Tonya because it was easy to follow and the way the story unfolded made it fun and often funny to watch. The film’s fast pacing and humor kept me engaged, and the mockumentary style made the characters feel entertaining and memorable. However, the movie did become a bit bland at times since there were no major twists, and much of the plot felt predictable. Even so, there were still moments where I genuinely felt sympathy for Tonya and other characters, especially when the film showed the emotional and personal struggles behind the scandal. Overall, despite its predictability, I, Tonya was an enjoyable and engaging movie with strong emotional moments.

A good story with good acting. It was funny at times and upsetting at others. Of all the shady characters in her life, judge Donald Londer at the end was the worst.

I, Tonya works so well as a film even if it clearly takes liberties with the facts. The mockumentary style, the fake "talking head" interviews, and all the ways the movie blurs the line between documentary and drama to show how media can fully control a narrative, especially in a pre-social media era where Tonya had no platform to defend herself. A sharp, stylish, rewatchable take on a story and performance.
