Out of all the recently-released Netflix comedy specials, Mo Gilligan: In the Moment is the first one that I actually enjoyed. Go to Full Review

If you’re not an avid fan of Gilligan’s yet, I’m not sure how much this hour is going to win you over, even if you skip ahead to his closing musical number. Go to Full Review

Mo has always been funny, but working out the kinks in his stage persona creates even more engagement. He’s mastering his craft. Go to Full Review

Pratik P @PeaWiz Feb 6 I’ve followed Mo’s comedy for years but this was not watchable or funny. Sad really. Just patting himself on the back the whole way through, and the long winded story in the nightclub just for the punchline to be greeted with an expensive bill? Really? See more Gaffy M @Gaffym Feb 6 I like Mo and was looking forward to this special but it was short on laughs, poorly paced (mostly based around one long story about a night out that really dragged). Just glad I didn't waste a night out at the O2 to see it. See more Rushdi I @Rushinz888 Feb 6 Man really said hold my mic and delivered one of the coldest stand-up specials in years.πŸ‘ŒπŸΎ From the jump, Mo’s London slang hits different β€” proper ends energy, witty observations, and jokes that feel like a voice note from your funniest mate. He glides between UK culture, πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ socials, dating, and fame with effortless charm, all while repping the mandem and keeping it real πŸ§’πŸ˜‚ What really elevates In The Moment is how he weaves in his Jamaican roots β€” the cadence, the storytelling, the family dynamics β€” pure yard flavour that adds depth and flavour to every punchline πŸ‡―πŸ‡²πŸ”₯✊🏾 The crowd energy? Electric. The timing? Immaculate. The vibes? Impeccable βœ¨πŸ‘πŸΎ Mo isn’t just cracking jokes β€” he’s capturing culture in real time. This special is jokes on jokes, heart, heritage, and hilarity all wrapped in one iconic set. Certified rewatchable. πŸ’―πŸŽ€πŸ‘ŒπŸΎ See more Rotten Y @YumiRotten Feb 5 Painfully unfunny and aggressively mediocre. I wish someone had warned me before I sacrificed my weekend to this. Gilligan says he wants to put Black British comedy on the map, but this special plays like a self-congratulatory victory lap with almost no real punchlines. It feels less like stand-up and more like flipping through an ordinary but immature man’s diary. I barely laughed, and even the audience sounded politely trapped. Maybe he’s big in the UK, but this performance isn’t ready for the international stage. See more Chris M @Monners Feb 3 wasn't great. The story about the night club wasn't at all funny and the Rastafarian nursery rhymes were old material Didn't laugh once See more Read all reviews
