Somewhere in South America, May 1960, just after Israel's abduction of Adolf Eichmann in Argentina. Polsky, a lonely and grumpy Holocaust survivor, lives in the remote countryside. He spends his days playing chess and tending his beloved rosebushes. One day, when a mysterious old German man moves in next-door, he suspects that his new neighbor is... Adolf Hitler. Since nobody believes him, he embarks on a detective mission to find the evidence. But, in order to gather evidence, he will need to be closer to his neighbor than he would like. So close that the two could almost become friends.

It’s still sometimes nice to be reminded of how much value a talented ham like Kier can be, like when he wiggles his shoulders as Herzog teases Polsky about Kastenbrunner’s sex appeal. ... the rest of the joke could stand a little workshopping.

it is a great movie, I dont get why people specially so called critics with those "make non-sense words" hate it. To jesse v, what's wrong with Spain? One of the most beautiful countries in the world? Why did you say "Why even pick Spain of all places?" what did you mean by that? are you a racist? or someone who had a bad experience in Spain and this movie is paying for it?

Excelente filme. Os atores são ótimos e a cenografia, perfeita. Há um crescendo na história, cujo final mostra que acima do ódio, há a humanidade, compaixão e solidariedade. Duas pessoas diversas, que somente tem em comum a idade, partem de um começo de desconfiança, medo e ódio (principalmente no caso do judeu que perdeu a família no Holocausto) e vão se aproximando, se conhecendo e, ao final, se tornando amigos. A premissa do filme é válida, pois muitos nazistas se refugiaram na América Latina, notadamente na Argentina e Brasil, assim como a suspeita de que Hitler não teria morrido de verdade. E o desenrolar da história no filme é muito interessante, ao deixar sempre em aberto a possibildiade de que de fato Herzog seja Hitler. Vale a pena ver.

My Neighbor Adolf is one of those small films that sneaks up on you. What starts as a quirky "my neighbor might be Hitler" premise turns into something surprisingly tender — funny at times, heartbreaking at others, and never heavy-handed. The film balances grief, humor, paranoia, and unexpected humanity in a way that kept me guessing all the way to its bittersweet, perfectly fitting ending. Synopsis
