When Adrienne Willis arrives at the coastal town of Rodanthe, N.C., her life is in chaos. There, she hopes to sort through the trouble surrounding her, while tending a friend's inn for the weekend. Diane Lane and the Tuscan countryside prove to be a more dynamic duo than Diane Lane and the Outer Banks, an assertion that immediately becomes clear when placing Under the Tuscan Sun and Nights in Rodanthe side by side.

3rd film starring pairing of Diane Lane and Richard Gere (Cotton Club & Unfaithful the other 2). Not usually a rom-dram fan but this one isn't bad. Chemistry between the 2 leads is superb and the ending is emotional. Worth a watch when you're bored on a Sunday afternoon.

Casting was not good. No chemistry between the actors. Found it difficult to even cry when Paul died as there was no connection with the characters. Would have given it 1 star, but the scenery was pretty and I liked the horses at the end.

So disappointing. While watching, I kept hoping it would get better. Horrible acting! No chemistry. Nothing like the book. Don’t waste your time or money watching. Just read the book!

I loved this movie. Wonderful match to have Diane and Richard acting together. Wonderful house, location and story. So heartbreaking at the end, I felt the pain of Diane's character. I feel teary just writing this and remembering the movie that I watched many years ago. I would love to watch it again. Another good movie that also has Diane and Richard is Unfaithful, so good. Nice twist at the end. I'm a huge fan of Diane's. I can't remember how many times I've watched Under the Tuscan Sun. My go to movie when there's nothing else to watch or I want to watch a lovely movie.

maybe this was good when it came out but i just happened upon it now in 2024 and HORRIBLE acting? by richard gere and viola davis who i usually love-can't keep watching so the 1 star is for that....
