Paul E @Eastman 4d I stumbled upon this film on YouTube, and I have to say there's something rare and precious about 1980s Filipino horror cinema, and Tiyanak is perhaps the most accomplished example. Directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes, this film draws on local mythology to create a unique, terrifying, and surprisingly funny experience. Tiyanak is a hidden gem of Asian horror cinema. Chaotic, intense, culturally rich, and genuinely scary, it offers an experience you'll never forget. It's not a perfect film, but if you love horror with character, identity, and with unintentionally funny moments, this film is a must-see.
