Synopsis oversells it. See more laura b @RT46089493 06/21/2024 This movie's aesthetic is like a woodsy, late 90s/early 2000s American Eagle catalogue that got washed over with Instagram filters. That is the movie's main selling point. Complete lack of character development makes you unable to care for the well being of anyone pictured, except for the main character- who you mainly want to die so you don't have to watch the movie any longer. Also I thought Kirsten Dunst was a little old for this film. If they got a younger actress the lack of emotional maturity and depth of the character could have been more believable, and the outcome more devastating, possibly. I feel like the people who made this movie are nostalgic for older movies with Kirsten Dunst in them, and for the period(s) from the music they chose for the soundtrack, but mashing these things into this storyline they picked (or wrote?) simply did not work. Who wants to watch a movie where the person does a drug that makes them look totally depressed and they keep on doing it and getting more depressed. I Gather The Character Had A Mental Illness Following Being A Carer For Her Mum In The Same House As The Mother Died. Certainly Did An Artful Spliff Rolling Session, Swanning About The House In Miscontempt. The Male Characters Do Their Manly Wok-Stuff In A Wood-Mill & Drink At Pubs/Bars Afterwards, All The While This Theressa Girl Explores Ways To Cope Alone.
