Biography:

Aaron is a movie fanatic and loves writing and talking about such things, a lot. Born and raised in Orange County, California, he earned a degree or two at UC Santa Barbara. Aaron describes himself as a film reviewer, writer, podcaster, gamer, comic reader, disc golfer, and a lefty. He fell in love with movies at a young age and has continued viewing, studying, and analyzing all aspects of the medium ever since. His mind is full of film knowledge and random trivia, but he is always open to learning more, whether it's through box office stats, reviewing Blu-rays from The Criterion Collection or simply hearing first hand from filmmakers and others about various productions and behind-the-scenes tidbits.

Wasteman (2025) 100% EDIT “It’s brutal in its depiction of the life inside, yet the performances turned in by leads David Jonsson and Tom Blyth make it all the more effective, as we watch what plays out.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 15, 2026 Full Review Crime 101 (2026) 86% EDIT “The real standout performance is Halle Berry, who once again shows just how valuable she can be when put in the right position to deliver.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 11, 2026 Full Review Saipan (2025) 92% EDIT “As a curious bit of history for someone not all that familiar, Saipan was quite an effective portrayal of the costs of seeing a war between men.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 10, 2026 Full Review The Rip (2026) 79% 7/10 EDIT “Sure, the resolution is pretty standard, but this brings out some of the best of what Carnahan has proved to be able to deliver when he’s working in serious mode.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 9, 2026 Full Review Grizzly Night (2026) 43% 4/10 EDIT “The messaging is at least reasonably clear, even if tragedies are seen on both sides, given what happened to grizzly bears following this event. I just wish the film were a bit more polished.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 9, 2026 Full Review Moses the Black (2026) 23% 6/10 EDIT “I liked how this urban drama tried to incorporate the story of this gang leader from biblical times. It’s a bold move that only has so much budget-wise to pull off. ” – We Live Entertainment Feb 9, 2026 Full Review The Wrecking Crew (2026) 73% 6/10 EDIT “There is far too much chaos on normal streets and freeways not to consider the collateral damage at play, and yet the film’s tone is very much in line with an ’80s brand of action movie, despite being shot like a modern film. ” – We Live Entertainment Feb 9, 2026 Full Review Solo Mio (2026) 80% 6/10 EDIT “The film never strays far from being sweet on its own terms, and it’s a breezy watch for those looking for an old-fashioned rom-com rooted in familiar story beats.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 9, 2026 Full Review Dracula (2025) 52% 5/10 EDIT “Outside of a couple of inspired sequences and a fun performance from Christoph Waltz as Van Helsing, those wanting a blood-soaked horror film or a more modern, knowing take on the material will be left disappointed. ” – We Live Entertainment Feb 9, 2026 Full Review Wuthering Heights (2026) 59% EDIT “For whatever inherent issues that may present for purists, it doesn’t diminish how much of a visual feast this film is, combining gorgeous cinematography and art design with deeply emotional performances.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 9, 2026 Full Review Tow (2025) 100% 3/5 EDIT “Tow may feel a bit too standard as the sort of human story that it is trying to tell, but one still can’t help but see the triumph that comes from Byrne giving her all.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 7, 2026 Full Review A Life Illuminated (2025) EDIT “Given the really cool looks at life underwater that are rarely seen, let alone the experience of learning about the fascinating life of Dr. Widder, A Life Illuminated is the sort of documentary one hopes for.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 7, 2026 Full Review Steal Away (2025) 92% EDIT “Steal Away brings together a wide variety of elements that left me continually unsure where it would go next... this is a bold effort with compelling visuals and strong performances from its young stars.” – We Live Entertainment Feb 6, 2026 Full Review Mockbuster (2025) EDIT “At a time when the home releases of major tentpole films rarely have the large assortment of extras to detail the filmmaking process, it’s quite a treat to watch an exploration of what it means to have a director work on a "6-day special" for The Asylum. ” – We Live Entertainment Feb 6, 2026 Full Review Shelter (2026) 63% EDIT “Not breaking a ton of new ground, but functioning well as a more low-key and introspective version of a standard "Statham beat ‘em up movie," fans of the action star do not need to hide from Shelter.” – We Live Entertainment Jan 28, 2026 Full Review Send Help (2026) 93% EDIT “The results are quite fun, as the dark comedy permeates, with a gleeful Raimi sitting back and letting both lead actors get their hands dirty.” – We Live Entertainment Jan 26, 2026 Full Review Mercy (2026) 24% EDIT “The concept at play is realized well enough... and those willing to check it out in 3D will get what they paid for. However, stripping away the bells and whistles leaves little to have mercy for.” – We Live Entertainment Jan 21, 2026 Full Review Greenland 2: Migration (2026) 49% EDIT “Whether or not one wants to thematically sync the state of the world with the state of things in reality, Greenland 2: Migration gets down to brass tax and delivers what’s essential for a film like this.” – We Live Entertainment Jan 13, 2026 Full Review 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 92% EDIT “Audiences get white-knuckle thrills as well as enough meat on the bone for them and a rage-infected zombie to chew on.” – We Live Entertainment Jan 13, 2026 Full Review Primate (2025) 78% EDIT “Primate works on these…primal levels. It’s well-constructed suspense rooted in the notion of a family member turning bad for unfortunate yet understandable reasons.” – We Live Entertainment Jan 6, 2026 Full Review Reflection in a Dead Diamond (2025) 84% 8/10 EDIT “It’s a wild ride for anyone looking for something far out and dazzling.” – We Live Entertainment Dec 26, 2025 Full Review Belén (2025) 95% 7/10 EDIT “What the film may lack in subtlety, it gains in reiterating important topics, especially when considering the routes other countries have taken to alter their history.” – We Live Entertainment Dec 26, 2025 Full Review Father Mother Sister Brother (2025) 81% 7/10 EDIT “It’s not unambitious, as Jarmusch is too great a filmmaker not to use minimalism to his advantage, but the fascination here lies in how quietly human each of these three stories is. ” – We Live Entertainment Dec 26, 2025 Full Review No Other Choice (2025) 97% 8/10 EDIT “It’s impressive work. Add to that a variety of memorable sequences and imagery, and it appears the choices made by Park are once again in line with how he succeeds at his best.” – We Live Entertainment Dec 26, 2025 Full Review The Testament of Ann Lee (2025) 87% 7/10 EDIT “Yes, this is a story full of pain, with a deliberate pace that really emphasizes specific challenges, but I can still approve of the initiative on display nonetheless.” – We Live Entertainment Dec 26, 2025 Full Review
