Jalal Mar 22 Undertone (2026) is a movie that shouldnt have made it to a theater—let alone any theater. It feels like a 5 budget experiment with zero effort. The entire plot boils down to one thing: Nobody loved the house. Thats it. The actors have nothing to do but mumble the same lines endlessly. I honestly dont know how this got a theatrical release. Watching this felt like a waste of time and money. If this is the future of cinema, were in trouble. Wasn't overly long and though Mortensen is the only top performance, the rest of the acting isn't too shabby. See more 06/01/2016 I read the play and loved it. Then I saw a ridiculously on-the-nose stage production. Ugh. This movie was better than that particular stage production, but that's not saying a lot. Mortensen did a decent job, but the problem is that the play gets a lot of its power from being minimalist - bare stage and all that. This movie is anything but minimalist, and suffers for it.
