Dylan Ramsey (David Spade) is getting ready to open his own restaurant, but he's become preoccupied his new neighbor, a gorgeous Frenchwoman named Lila (Sophie Marceau). When Dylan doesn't have much luck talking to her, he decides that the way to her heart may be through her beloved dog, Jack. Abducting the canine, Dylan hopes to win Lila's affection when he returns Jack safe and sound, but soon the scheming guy has to deal with numerous unforeseen problems that jeopardize his plan.

A mundane sitcom with feature pretensions, the kind where the comic 'situation' is simply a coat-rack for hanging a rag-tag assortment of inflated sight gags and telegraphed punch lines.

I thought this was a Dana Carvey film! I guess that's why it wasn't funny. The only laugh was the ending, on the plane.

A stupid romcom that feels like it's nothing more than a mediocre sitcom episode. So much can be said about what's wrong with this, from the writing, casting, etc but the singing bit at the end was the one thing that worked for me. It almost felt like an Indian movie if it didn't sound like the actor couldn't sing. And Sophie Marceau is nice to just look at the whole time, so it wasn't all bad, lol.

David Spade is funny but based on this rom-com I think David Spade is much more suited for SNL sketches and other various comedic supporting roles. Him trying to write an actual screenplay laced with his jokes results in films like ‘Lost & Found'
