All too often she played the sidekick or B-roll in movies. For me; when she got the chance to play lead, she doesn't disappoint. Jeremy Renner played a (stereotypical for him at the time) role as a weak willed bum. He did a very good job in a difficult role including an execution scene. This 15 year old film was a message movie supporting a movement to get state governments to allow Crime Victims the ability to face the perpetrator. I'm not real sure about the success of that movement. But this film made a pretty strong statement for it.
