It has heartwarming moments and interesting back-and-forth between characters, while keeping its story simple, if a little on the sappy side in the end. Not a bad start to Duran's directing career.

This movie is shameless! Some struggling kid comes to town and saves the town AND himself through what? .......The art of.......DANCE!!!! It shamelessly uses the death of American servicemen and women to get tears from the audience. It's a very bad storyline!

Teenage angst alongside dance off competing has certainly been done before, and this film pretty much goes by the numbers rather than trying to offer something new to elevate it above what's gone before.

It's not good but it's not bad either. Bravertown combines drama and dance in a not so cliche flick. Its definitely got more momentum than all that Step Up nonsense and the actors did fairly well so I actually had a good time watching this when I was bored.

Average movie. The "platoon" part with the kid and him not realizing it's a bad idea was pretty weak. It has potential mixed in with cheesy parts.
