It barrels forward with razor-sharp wit, fearless performances, and just enough heart to keep the madness surprisingly lovable. Every scene feels like it's daring the next one to be even more outrageous, and somehow it always delivers. See more Jai D @JaiDevi Mar 9 I have no idea why this has such a low score because I feel if you’ve watched this movie from beginning to end there’s no way you didn’t enjoy it. But to each their own. I however thought it was well written and acted. The detest behaviour of each person (except smootchy) in children’s broadcasting is comical and reveals depth later on as to how some of the characters came to be so mean and gross and some of the characters make full turn arounds and become redeemable- it’s humour is on point and I would expect this to be at a 90% -the storytelling and the characters are filmed realistic and relatable and the snide and sarcastic quotes are well executed. See more Annie R @RT19469182 Nov 20 "Death to Smoochy" is a great movie. It got a lot of bad reviews when it first came out, and won a raspberry, and all that, but people just don't get it. Some people said that it was inappropriate for children, well that's because it wasn't made for children. It is a movie ABOUT children's advertising. Some people (not me) may consider "Chucky" to be appropriate children's material, but other than that, "Death to Smoochy" doesn't sound like a child's movie to me. On the other hand, it isn't damaging, the way a horror flick would be (and is) damaging. In bad taste? Definitely yes. And other people say it isn't funny. Come on! DeVito, Williams, and Norton are serious people. And this movie is seriously funny. There are scenes in this movie that rival Marshall McLuhan in "Annie Hall."
