SIMAS C @simas_eros 6 days ago This film could have been the best of the trilogy (and perhaps one of the best kung fu erotic films, strange but true), were it not for a key character played by an actress nobody told she had to act. In a film meant to brim with emotion, the blankness of the woman at the heart of its sensual narrative drains its intensity. It might be deliberate, given the well-known fetish for the demure shyness of Japanese muses, but her lack of emotion shows in every other scene too. Even so, it may be the best of the three, rivalled only by the first, which is well told, surprising and has the most sensual scenes. After the second film’s chaos, it takes itself seriously again, with engaging characters, a well-built (if fanciful) story and well-directed scenes, both the fights and the "fights" between the sheets, with the genre’s usual excesses. Dynamic and tender when needed, funny and sensual in the right measure, it stands on its own, with an epic, well-earned ending. See more Read all reviews
