Roger L @inkajoo 2d It's a great gay film with a happy ending, a thing in frustratingly short supply. It is a deceptively dreary film about finding joy where you are. The sex scenes are so lengthy as to border on fetishized, and the dramatic stakes are low except for the very end, but these are stylistic choices. The leads both have a ton of charm - not to forget Nan! - and the cinematography is well done. It is extremely enjoyable to watch the relationship blossom. To state the only story flaw that I found would spoil the ending. Required viewing for everybody. Sometimes all it takes is someone to love to change you and your life. John Saxby was an incredibly relatable character. And Gheorghe... ugh, what a sweetheart. Both of the lead actors were spectacular. The shots of the environment and the farm animals felt equally as important and beautiful as everything else. I had no idea this film even existed until it was recommended to me just yesterday. Makes me wonder what kind of queer gems are out there that I don't even know about.
