mohammed M. @9mr_0 Feb 1 فلم جميل . القصة جيدة لكن جوانبها ضعيفة التركيز على البطل وحدة و اعني حرفيا وحدة حتى عائلته ظهرت بشكل سطحي .القصة لا تحتوي على عمق درامي للشخصيات الشخصيات تظهر فجاه و على المشاهد التعامل معها و كانا من المفترض انا نعرفهم. الممثلين الثنائي البطل تحديا تمثيلهم كان ملحمي نيكلسون و داني قدموا ثنائي رائع ولو كان اداء نيكلسون قوي و حضورة اسطوري و مسيطر على الفلم. الممثلين الثانوين ادائهم جيد رغم قلت حواراتهم القصة لم تتوسع معهم او اعطتهم المساحة للابداع اكثر. الاخراج كان جيد قدم بداية قوية لكن في العرض( منتصف الفلم) بداء بالمماطلة بالاحداث الى النهاية السريعة بشكل صادم. المخرج عتمد على اداء التمثيلي اكثر من البناء الدرامي للاحداث . التصوير النحفة البصرية والاجواء الرائعة و الالوان المتناغمه التصوير كان سابق عصرة بعصور صور اجواء الفلم بشكل ملحمي هذا التصوير راح يبقى عالق في ذهني مدى الحياه . الموسيقى كانت جميلة و تتناسب مع اجواء الفلم. بختصار هو فلم دراما تركز على شخص واحد فقط تناولتة بكل حالاتة هو فرحان غاضب او حزين اما من حولة كانوا شخصيات سطحية . فلم راهن على اداء الممثلين و التصوير و الاخراج اكثر من القصة نفسها . Toda a ausência de originalidade em mostrar uma nova faceta de uma história já conhecida, é o principal fator que explica o fracasso deste longa. See more Adam W @RT97469673 08/08/2024 A visually well made movie, I have to give that much credit to Devito. The acting, however, leaves much to be desired. I believe this is the first movie I've seen where the extras over act. While Nicholson is entertaining as the title character, Devito as his fictional loyal sidekick just doesn't fit the part. Devito is not a tough guy and when he tries to be one it just makes you think of his comedic characters all the more. While longer than it should be, if I catch this movie on television I'll give it another watch. I guess it's my way of saying the good outweighs the bad, but it takes a little effort on my part. See more Blu B @RT43513976 07/17/2024 A Hidden Gem Classic. This isn't close to the perfection of other biopics but where this makes up is in the direction. DeVito's direction is suprisingly really strong and it can especially be seen in the cinematography which is really good and the score. The framing, camerawork, lighting, and production value is all top notch with some really epic shots a times. It can feel a bit showy at times especially with unneeded closeups but it's really first rate stuff and it's a shame I haven't seen more things directed by DeVito who has a real sharp eye. The acting also is suprisingly good with Nicholson giving a great performance the entire way with every one else turning in great stuff across the board. Really a testament to DeVito in the chair all around. That being said where this struggles is in the editing department which is ok. The out of order storytelling of events from the last day of Jimmy is a bit unneeded and doesn't really add anything. There really isn't any reason it needs to be done out of order but it suprisingly still all makes sense and is never convuluted. The other issue here is it has a focus problem of this is about Hoffa but quite a bit of it is on Bobby. Honestly, Bobby gets more devlopment than Jimmy does because there are swaths where he is the focus more than anything but it always ties back to Jimmy as well neatly. But this is a biopic about Hoffa at the end of the day and that leads to the biggest issue of all. This does a great job showing what Hoffa did, but it almost never addresses WHO Jimmy Hoffa was as a person beyond the basic stuff. We never see him grow up like how we do in something like Goodfellas to explain his mindset. We also never see hardly any backstory on his wife or children which is a tragedy. So it feels like i can't decide if it's a biopic on Jimmy, a biopic about Bobby, or showing the history of the Teamsters in the 50-70's. But there is always something keeping you engaged and at the end of the day it does do a good job showing the events of the Teamsters and Jimmy. This gives it a half decent pacing but it can feel long but never bloated either. However, it's because of DeVito's direction that the flaws in the screenplay are overcome as much as it is. If your interested in learning about the key events of Hoffa's rise to power, DeVito, or any actors in this han give it a watch. See more Read all reviews
