Peter W @RT12077588 Oct 23, 2026 Hokuriku: Proxy War is a wild ride, blending crime, revenge, and chaotic brawls into another fiercely entertaining outing from Kinji Fukasaku. There is so much to absorb, and the plot never slows down, charging forward with great energy. It all begins with one man’s decision, a choice that sends shockwaves through everyone around him, from those closest to him to the rival gangs circling around. What follows is a brutal bloodbath driven by greed and ambition, yet it remains gripping throughout thanks to its pace. Among the chaos, the film is filled with engaging, often likeable performances that give the violence weight and personality, making this a furious, and thoroughly compelling crime story.
