I particularly enjoy the fact that when two people are having a conversation, the cameraman never manages to get them in the same frame. See more 12/15/2013 It has a lot of style, a mediocre but intriguing vampire story, and stale characters. It flows decently, but there are time where it gets dull or confusing. Not the most interesting ending, but it is slightly comical. Overall, it's worth a look. See more 07/27/2012 Sylvia(Ekberg) inherits an old castle and the title of countess. A dream come true, and a typical plot for these movies. Nothing about it seem exceptional. There is footage of the outside of a beautiful old castle. This movie has a certain ambiance that is characteristic of color, horror films of the era. I like this movie. It has its shortcomings. I guess the worst is the acting of lead actress Anita Ekberg. But this movie covers many of the vampire movie cliches in a nice little B&D and S&M package. Uncle Julian chains smoking hot Blinka(Adriana Ambesi) and whips her. Nothing in this movie seems brutal though, except maybe for the flash back to Malenka being burned at the stake. The vampire Julian is a dominator type character and he tells all the women what to do. Speaking of Blinka, she is my favorite part of the movie. Such a pretty and sweet vampire. She can have my blood any time. Unfortunately she doesnt get a lot of screen time. I love voluptuous italian vampire chicks running around basements of an old dusty castles as much as the next horny bastard. But this film has problems!! An example: it features a cat fight that's nearly all facial close ups!! Miss all that jiggling? What were they thinking?!! At least there's plenty of nice big boobs stuffed into tight dresses to look at (iow, several ladies look like they have an extra butt sticking out of the top of their dresses :p ). Well, I was a little depressed yesterday so I hoped this would be a laugh riot in the unintentional way I love so much. There was some great dialogue here and there but not enough. I think MST3K could've had a lot of fun with this. Furthermore, a decent transfer would be much more appealing visually, thereby raising it's enjoyment level by a point or 2....perhaps.
