Critics Consensus

Serving up Timothée Chalamet at his most infectiously charismatic, Marty Supreme is a propulsive epic that realizes its sky-high aspirations even while it critiques its indelible hero's toxic ambition.

What’s predictable enough is how effortlessly Chalamet generates sympathy for Marty Mauser, who in the cold light of the final credits deserves very little of it. But such is what movie stars do. Go to Full Review

Safdie transforms a sports saga into a biting portrait of ambition, class, and identity. [It’s] a relentless odyssey of purpose and survival, where every hustle feels like a defiant claim to value in a world eager to deny it. Go to Full Review

Safdie pushes the pace hard, and the actors keep up. At times, less might have been more, as the relentless intensity can become tiring, but Marty Supreme still delivers a compelling character study rich in unexpected twists, humor, and narrative momentum Go to Full Review

Scott 17h Oscar worthy perform by Timothe Chalamet! See more Deborah T 19h Worst movie I’ve seen in a while See more Alaina 20h thought there would be more ping pong See more Scott A 1d Bravo! Marty Supreme is a masterpiece! A generational epic. Chalemet is electrifying. This young man deserves the Oscar, hands down. And Odessa A'zion mesmerizes with her simmering and haunting portrayal of Rachel. See more Chris G 2d Loved it! Every aspect of the film inspires analysis, reflection, intense post viewing discussion. Beyond expectations! Very similar experience to The Brutalist. Brilliant writing, direction, and beyond other worldly performance from Chalamet and the supporting cast. This will really make you want to re-watch again to see what was missed in first viewing. It's a story about how the choices we make, matter how benevolent we think they are, cause real world disruption among those whom we love and believe in us, but we ultimately let down. But redemption can still be found. Beautiful film! See more Josh 3d I was so bored I almost walked out. Worst movie I’ve seen in years. Don’t go and don’t watch it on video. See more Read all reviews
