This is an unimaginatively faithful remake that leaves the original intact, complete with songs co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. But the replacement of animated beings with live actors manages to ramp up the folkloric kitsch considerably.

loved it. respected the original. only downside is that for some reason the theater played a trailer for Clayface, when there's a bunch of children there to see a kids movie. just doesnt feel right.
