"Oscar Shaw" is concerned about the way of the world, but sincerity is stuck in a largely inert mystery, limiting the potency of its messages as dramatic momentum never takes command of the picture. Go to Full Review

Brian G @Axel_foley 2d Garage. Not even formulated, the didnt even try The only formula they did actually run with was the "Netflix formula" which is the 3 white people that were actually in the movie, 2 were bad guys, 1 was a crack head See more Saga F @Sagaficial333 Feb 5 People sleep on MJW movies. This one has a good plot. The acting isn't too shabby either. It's a slow start but gets better. See more Carole W @Carroll123 Jan 31 A great B movie. This is Not a 90 minute nonstop action movie. The main character, a retired cop, reluctantly divorced, is trying to be his best self in spite of it. Best friend is played by Tyrese Gibson. Isaiah Washington plays his bartender/owner friend, which i wish he had a bit bigger role bc Im a fan of his as well. I cant remember if its rated R, it wasnt as gory as some of the John Wick franchise scenes Ive seen imho. This is the first time Ive seen Michael Jai White in a major role; i learned later that he is a martial arts expert, even though this was not a martial arts movie per se. He is trying to solve a murder of someone he was close to, See more Tatiana H Jan 30 Oscar Shaw delivers a grounded, no-nonsense action film anchored by Michael Jai White’s physical authority and screen presence. White excels in roles that demand controlled intensity, and here, his mission-driven performance underscores why he remains a standout in the genre. The return of Isaiah Washington and Tyrese Gibson adds a welcome layer of gravitas, lending the film both familiarity and credibility. Beyond its action, the film engages with conversations around drug use and therapy, introducing a social dimension that elevates the narrative beyond standard genre expectations. As a Black-produced film, Oscar Shaw reinforces the importance of representation while maintaining solid entertainment value. Overall, it is a competent and worthwhile watch See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 28 Oscar Shaw is a gritty detective series blending police drama with a vigilante twist. The story follows a former cop forced off the force who takes justice into his own hands after a brutal murder. The lead actor delivers a solid performance, balancing intensity and vulnerability, making Shaw believable as both a broken officer and determined avenger. The action and stunt work, especially gun handling, are impressive and add tension. The direction keeps the story moving with suspense and emotional beats, though some scenes feel wonky and underdeveloped. Despite minor flaws, the series is entertaining, engaging, and worth watching at least once for fans of crime and vigilante dramas. It successfully balances procedural intrigue with personal stakes, creating a story that feels intense, dynamic, and unexpectedly compelling throughout.
