Edward K @Edko426 02/26/2024 Laughably bad. This would be a good movie for the Drive-In. Silly story. Terrible acting. Bad special effects. Annoying music. Must have been a really low budget, because they only have three sets plus the beach and underwater. And what's with that tiny row boat which Everyone in the film is using?! LOL . There's a ridiculous story involving spies and espionage, but this film is so unbelievably cheap, poorly acted, poorly written, poorly directed, and overall poorly made that there are really no redeeming qualities to recommend watching this film. Overall, "The Phantom from 10,000 Leagues" is a bad creature-feature even by American International Pictures standards. Not even interesting on a so-bad-it's-good level of entertainment. See more 10/01/2013 The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues is a real stinker of a 50's B movie. It almost reaches levels of Ed Wood quality, but without the charm that Ed Wood's movies had. First of all, the phantom itself is barely in the movie at all, and is finally not a part of the main plot by the end of the movie. It's more about the radiation, murder and mystery more than anything else. The acting is just awful in this movie too, including the lead actor who was totally not right for his part. This film was also produced by American Releasing Corporation, which would later become American International Pictures, or AIP. For those who've seen their films, you can imagine what kind of quality you'll get out of this one. It's pretty bad all around and not even in an enjoyable way. It's boring, predictable and has no real redeeming value to it. See more 09/22/2013 Cheesy monster, dull dialog, typical characters, and a usual bland plot. The story gets confusing and eventually I wasn't sure what was going on exactly. It has some interesting moments though, and fans of cheap monster movies should check it out.
