While there are some scenes that bring the movie down, Pizza Movie is mostly consistent. Sean Giambrone and Gaten Matarazzo make for a great pairing and watching their antics throughout the movie make for some big laughs.

I laughed a lot throughout this film because of the sensibilities of all involved. Removing an inner logic shared by every scene in the film gives you a range of comedic material to work with, and it’s all grounded in what the leads are giving.

I am decidedly not the demographic for Pizza Movie, and it should be a movie I could barely tolerate. But it’s a surprisingly fun, very dumb, and appropriately timed (97 minutes) comedy.

Just the best. If you like your comedy weird, this is it. Surreal comedy is its own genre and not everyone's taste: it's at once, boastful & self-deprecating, disgusting & heart-warming, immature and growth-causing. This particular film has a great use of color, and a wonderful "villain" in the RA leader full of homages to great stoner films, teen coming of age films, and kung fu films(?) of the past. A masterful first feature from Nick and Brian.

This movie is the funniest movie I think I have ever seen since Deadpool 2. Definitely watch it with friends and for the low budget the effects are surprisingly good. An absolute fever dream and I HIGHly recommend watching while baked. (I'm so sorry.) Kinda falls apart at the end with a few things that, despite the film's hilarity and chaos, just doesn't really make sense or fit well into the movie in my opinion. Aside from that it's great, solid 7/10.
