Ben M @RightReviews 18h Cannot understand how this got the rating that it did on here… had been wanting to watch Badlands, but thought I’d start with this.. especially after seeing the extremely high RT score…. But upon watching… this may be my least favorite film in the franchise… story sucked, the lead actress may be the worst actress I’ve ever had the extremely displeasurable experience watching… no one else helped. I always hate when people say that a movie can’t have believable elements when it’s a sci-fi movie like this, because small things, like a man being dragged presumably miles by a lion, then only have 3 scratch marks on his chest… no scratches from being dragged, hair looks like it was just done by hair/makeup… the actors and actresses just couldn’t be further off from the EXTREMELY BRUTAL and FIERCE Comanche… and let’s be fair… the Comanche weren’t letting a bitchy teenage girl run the hunt… the entire movie couldn’t have been more of a let down, and now I’m less excited about Badlands… See more Mickey B. @MickeyBeyond 23h Prey is hands down probably the best film in the entire Predator franchise. More importantly, it powerfully mirrors the effects of colonization and systemic violence. The story places one of the greatest warriors on Earth against one of the greatest warriors in space, letting them battle it out to the very end. What makes it so compelling isn’t just the action it’s the narrative weight behind it. The film blends survival, cultural resilience, and raw confrontation into a story that feels both intimate and epic. It’s not just another entry in the franchise; it’s a thoughtful, character-driven evolution that gives the Predator mythos real emotional and thematic depth. See more William F @willfarl 2d Take an accurate portrayal of early-18th-century Comanche, and throw in one truly scary Yautja (the species name of the ubiquitous "Predator"), and you end up with one great installment in this hit-or-miss franchise. Taking the story back to the lean and mean basics of the original, 'Prey' has some beautiful cinematography, actual character development (shocking for an actioner like this and a nice surprise), and a great performance by Ms. Midthunder in the lead. It's nice to see an action hero genuinely use skill and smarts rather than "brute forcing" their way through. Taken with the equally good (though very different) 'Predator:Badlands', I'd say Dan Trachtenberg has revived the 'Predator' movies from a near-dead blandness.
