Detective Rick Santoro (Nicolas Cage) has never played by the rules. When he attends a high-profile boxing match with his friend Navy Cmdr. Kevin Dunne (Gary Sinise), as well as Defense Secretary Kirkland (Joel Fabiani), he witnesses a terrorist assassinate Kirkland. Despite a lockdown on the arena, key witness Julia Costello (Carla Gugino) escapes—and Santoro begins to suspect Kirkland's death is part of a much larger conspiracy that involves boxing rivals and a beautiful stranger.

The first half of "Snake Eyes" is catnip for Brian De Palma aficionados until you realize he’s working with one of the flimsiest screenplays he’s ever had, as one of legendary Hollywood screenwriter David Koepp’s rare whiffs breaks the spell.

I found myself watching this movie trying to find reasons to like it, and not finding any. But if you like noir and de Palma, then you might like this movie. You have to really really like Nicolas Cage to like the movie though.

This is easily one of Brian De Palma's weaker films. Similar to Mission: Impossible, I felt like everything was easy to figure out. That's where I felt like the movie lacked the most.

Até o dia que tem uma luta de Box valendo o cinturão. E neste dia temos o amigo de infância de Santoro, comandante Kevin (Gary),que esta fazendo a segurança do ministro da segurança que esta para ver a luta. A luta começa e o campeão perde, mas ele perde de proposito, pois devia muito nos cassinos. Mas no momento que finge ser nocauteado tiros são disparados e matam o ministro e uma bala passa de raspão em Julia (Gugino) que guarda um segredo, a respeito de testes adulterados de armas e para que essa verdade não chegue a ser revelado, que foi armado esta arapuca. Julia foge e Santoro passa a protege-la e descobrindo que seu amigo é o responsavel por toda a trama. E agora como sera afetado a amizade? E Santoro, ficará ao lado de Kevin ou salvará Julia? Uma boa atuação de Cage, mas o filme abre aquelas brechas do acaso e isso acaba depreciando. Vale apena assistir? sim, mas se tiver outra opção. Nota: 6
