For as long as Heidi can remember, her mentally challenged mother has had only 22 words in her vocabulary, and the precocious 12 year-old doesn't have a problem with that. Bernadette, their loving neighbor, provides them a bubble of love and protection. Then, a new word pops out of Mama's mouth - the mysterious soof - and it changes everything. Heidi is propelled on a solo cross-country journey of discovery and loss, truth and identity.

Fat L @Bonnie123 Mar 14 Alfre Wood has never done a movie I havent liked. This movie is full of talented actors. The storyline is okay, it doesnt wow but the acting and cast more than make up for it. Its stipl a very descent storyline. Im not sure of kids would like this movie, it may be a bit of a too always serious plot for kids. But as an adult I really enjoyed it. The film is superb for what it is, as doesn't try to be either more clever, nor more deep than it needs to be.
