See more Wayne M @Wayne93 Jun 9 Sound of Falling is a haunting generational drama that is both imaginative and experimental. This film is set on the same farmstead in Altmark, Germany over four different time periods. The first period is the 1910s and we observe a dutiful farming family that encounters tragedy. We mainly see it unfold through the eyes of a young girl in Alma. The 1940s sees mainly a continuation of the same story. Then there is big jump to the 1980s and we are introduced to Angelika, a provocative teenager going through many rites of passages. Finally we see the present day where a young family have moved in and begin renovating. It's a fascinating watch to see different eras of life and the focus is mainly on the women and how they they are treated. It moves slowly but makes for an exquisite watch. It is also shot beautifully. It's a film that requires patience, but the payoff is immense. See more Read all reviews
