Gazal M @moonishonest Feb 27 the acting is so terrible, why is there like 3 time skips, the main guy keeps talking in a hush, low deep voice I couldn't hear anything well, and ik an 11 year old doesn't call her parents, mommy and daddy, like she's 11 not 5. the scene where they jump the mc guy there's no way a landmine makes u do a front flip, like y'all should be blown in pieces not frontflip, the acting is overall terrible and it seeems so rushed, theres no deep meanings or explanation of the characters, the movie reminds me of those people who keep cursing to seem mature, like no we don't want a movie with 80% of the sentences r just curses, also who's the dude in the van who is he??? there's no explanation on the characters, like a mafia doesn't need to keep cursing every second and why did the main village in began touching maya, the nurse, like that, so weird, movie terrible, would not watch again, would not recommend, no good written characters and timeline so horrible. 1/10 See more Josh @JQuin352 Feb 22 Mixed acting. The story is easy to follow, the stakes feel real, and the film maintains a consistent tone throughout. It’s grounded in its premise and doesn’t rely on unnecessary spectacle to make its point. Some of the racial commentary felt a bit forced, and that aspect didn’t always work for me. That said, it didn’t ruin the movie or overshadow the story being told. Where the film falls slightly short is in character depth—especially with Bastion and Leon and his group. A deeper dive into their backgrounds would have strengthened the emotional impact and made certain moments hit harder. Even with those issues, the film holds up well. The performances are strong, the narrative makes sense, and the overall execution is effective. Stand Your Ground isn’t perfect, but it’s a good, well-crafted movie that earns its 4 out of 5.
