When North Korean ruler Kim Jong-il (Trey Parker) orchestrates a global terrorist plot, it's up to the heavily armed marionettes of the highly specialized Team America unit to stop his dastardly scheme. The group, which includes the thespian-averse technology expert Chris (Matt Stone), not only has to face off against Jong-il, but they must also contend with F.A.G., the Film Actors Guild, a cadre of Hollywood liberals at odds with Team America's "policing the world" tactics.

The whole thing plays like Thunderbirds Goes to Hell and will doubtless offend all those numskulls who complained about the BBC's transmission of Jerry Springer: The Opera. For that alone, it gets my vote.

Whatever the case, at just over 90 minutes, with rarely any time to slow down, Team America is the sort of bold experiment that delivers plenty of laughs and a clear level of ambition on display. The craft alone is enough to warrant a look.

Matt Damon! There is something so delightfully absurd about Team America: World Police. Trey Parker and Matt Stone created something really unique here. The puppetry is both amazingly intricate and obviously ridiculous. The songs are funny and catchy. And the humor takes wild swings at everything and anyone. Also, while some of the jokes are dated now, a lot of the comedy still holds up decades later. It does cross the line of good taste multiple times, which is why I’m grateful I saw an edited version, but Team America still offered plenty of laughs without the crass. Oh, and Pearl Harbor sucks.

This is too much like the real world in 2025. Unless you are offended by their raunchy plot, this will make you laugh the entire time. Hadn't watched it in a very long time. Perfect timing with trump 2.0
