What to Know

Critics Consensus

Not only is the movie's juvenile dialogue unbearable for adults, but the turtles' dopey and casual attitude towards physical violence makes them poor kids' role models.

I don't think my negative reaction is a case of a parent forgetting the sort of mindless entertainment that he himself enjoyed as a child; rather the turtle fights are more depressing than joyful. Go to Full Review

The artful grunge is gone -- and so's the edge. The whole movie is bright yet colorless Go to Full Review

More dialogue-heavy and somewhat less frenetic, this sequel is somewhat more to my own taste. Go to Full Review

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lI: The Secret Ooze is funnier, smarter and more entertaining than the original. Go to Full Review

I found myself sort of liking the turtles and you have to admit that "Cowabunga dude," is the perfect response to every question. Go to Full Review

Nostalgia lens aside, it's a pretty crummy follow up to the 1990 movie. Go to Full Review

thiago s @Thiagostone Feb 9 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Jason J @JasonJoshua Jan 3 The jokes on those articulate cinephiles trying to critic a movie that’s meant literally for children and not just children but it’s for children from the 80s / 90s were these type of movies we’re solely made for merchandising purpose and to capitalize of the original cartoon. Please don’t take this movie seriously and yourself RT See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 18 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is a fun and engaging sequel that expands on the original film while keeping its charm intact. The movie develops the Turtles’ characters more deeply, allowing Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael to shine individually, while Splinter also gets more attention, making him a stronger mentor figure. April O’Neill is perfectly cast, bridging the live-action and animated worlds seamlessly. The costumes remain impressive, capturing each Turtle’s personality while staying true to the franchise. Action sequences are dynamic, creative, and balanced with humor, keeping the tone light and enjoyable for all ages. The story is whimsical but engaging, with villains that feel more developed and a screenplay that blends comedy and adventure effectively. Overall, it’s a nostalgic, rewatchable experience that honors the franchise, delivers fun, and keeps fans invested in the Turtles’ world. Pizza and excitement guaranteed. See more Kevin R @Kevin199 Nov 25 The original movie was better. Reasons why this sequel sucks: the turtles don’t use their weapons, the turtles have freckles, dark tone from previous film is gone, the actors dubbing the turtles’ voices are recast, April O’Neil is recast, Casey Jones is absent, the Shredder is recast, original characters made up for this movie named Tokka and Rahzar are antagonists instead of Bebop and Rocksteady, an original character made up for this movie named Professor Jordan Perry seemingly takes Baxter Stockman’s role, no Vernon, and no Erma.
