Par H @Parhwy 1d The Elixir (2025) is a 117-minute-long Indonesian horror I saw on Netflix in June 2026. This is a zombie film wrapped around a family melodrama. The zombies are fast and the melodrama is pace-killing. Because of how the two stories are enmeshed in the plot, it makes sense that both need resolution - however the melodrama gets and needed stand-alone scenes. One scene was so ridiculous that in my head it circled 180 degrees to be awesome: a guy proposes to his GF with a ring… as they are being eaten alive. What? Yep! Nonetheless… This film is overly long. Frequently showing women to be hysterical, inept was unfortunate. Also unfortunate is characters with access to guns and knives sometimes not using those to, oh, I dunno, pick off zombies? Just a thought. The blood is very chocolate sauce. The zombie actors, make-up, choreography and CGI are done well. I did like that The Voice of Baceprot (Indonesian all-female metal band) had songs in this movie. Rewatch? No. Recommend? No. 4/10. You see one of the characters playing video/computer games in the beginning so surely, they've seen Zombies. They behave foolishly. Even if you didn't know what was happening you would want weapons. Yet, they keep leaving weapons behind. I don't want to give the whole movie away, but they're not bright. Good Zombies, action & scary. However, one would think they learned from each encounter- they don't. La sceneggiatura è divertente e vengono sfruttata bene le location esotiche per il genere. I personaggi sono anche discretamente originali seppure i dialoghi sono molto datati e ricordato gli anni '90. Sequenze di azione accettabili e numerosissime, forse manca un po' di capacità in più alla maggior parte dei personaggi che restano molto passivi e poco intelligenti. See more Read all reviews
