Heidi M @KittyFlynn Oct 22, 2026 A top-grade B-movie haunted house mystery, with murderous relatives scheming for a fortune. The lunatic brother is played masterfully by Milton Parsons (not Craig Stevens, as another reviewer erroneously stated), a prolific character actor, who gets a chance to be center-stage in this movie. Willie Best is always a treat to watch, and this is no exception. His antics lighten the otherwise murderous atmosphere. The rest of the cast rounds out the usual suspects: greedy relatives and their wives, out to get the family fortune, one way or another. Definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of The Mystery of the 13th Guest (1943) and The Old Dark House (1932). See more Jul 21, 2017 Corny low budget horror film about a rich old woman who staves off her relatives seeing inheritance by using her creepy insane brother to act as the butler, who then frightens (and possibly murders) them off. The brother is played by Craig Stevens, who's later play the ultra cool Peter Gunn, but here he's looking very much like Riff Raff from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Overall, it's a dumb mystery that's not at all scary. The film is very stagey (there was basically one set) and is overly talky. At times, this film felt like an SCTV parody of this type of bad 1940s horror picture. No real reason to watch this one outside of camp value. See more Read all reviews
