What to Know

Critics Consensus

A pared-down, no-holds-barred actioner that further cements Jon Bernthal as the definitive interpreter of The Punisher in a self-contained, marvelous story that goes above and beyond for One Last Kill.

Audience Says

A brutally unhinged peak-TV special, The Punisher proves One Last Kill is nowhere near enough.

As is, “Punisher” is pure grindhouse fare with more grunts and groans than dialogue; it’ll make you long for something with more meat on its bones. Go to Full Review

[Bernthal] is so fully locked into this version of the Punisher, physically and emotionally, that even when the material tips into excess, he keeps it grounded. Go to Full Review

It feels too short and seems awkward in its attempt to introduce a larger narrative that doesn’t seem to have a resolution. That being said, overall, The Punisher: One Last Kill is as gritty, violent, and mature as you’d expect from a Marvel one-shot! Go to Full Review

Not amazing, sort of touching on things that would be better served by a movie... or a series. If you're going to have these ideas for Frank, they should be explored more deeply than this. Go to Full Review

Kimmo K @Kimble98 33m It was great action but other than that didn't really understand what this movie was aiming for. See more Sam S. @riverrunsthroughme 18h Too short but great at what is does in the 50 min time span. See more Justin W @RT85754490 1d We want more. Bring back the Punisher in all his glory!! See more Kevronius T. @KDoggTheRottenator 2d What it gets right: Jon Berenthal. And action. LOTS of action in a very condensed runtime. What it gets wrong: Frank had a son too. It forgets about him, save a 2-shot wordless flashback. Typical of Disney. Everything is too brightly lit, and not stylized at all. The cinematography has no life if its own. On FILM, this would've looked 3X more amazing. Done this way, it merely looks acceptable. See more Leprechaun K @LeprechaunKing 2d Bernthal goes all in with his performance but there is little to the story with a script likely written by AI or an adolescent. The mind numbing violence is meaningless. Expectation is very low for anything by Disney these days. No surprise here. See more SPOILER M @RT56922152 3d A very fun movie, totally Punisher, with great action, would recommend. See more Read all reviews
