Claudio C @Claudio666 50m Deserved a Better Ending (12,281 - 16 Feb 2026) In 1943, after the battle of Stalingrad, the tiger is ready to leave the front with his crew – Lt. Philip Gerkens; gunner Christian; radio operator Keilig; loader Michel; and the driver Helmut – through the Dnieper bridge, which will be bombed. Helmut speeds up and while repairing the tank, they are assigned to the classified Operation Labyrinth, to retrieve Colonel Paul von Hardenburg from a bunker in the front. They journey to hell begins. "Der Tiger", a.k.a. "The Tank" (2025) could have been a masterpiece with a better ending. The claustrophobic set inside the tank recalls "Das Boat" (1981), but the twist to a supernatural conclusion does not work well like, for example, in "Jacob's Ladder" (1990) where the viewer sees strange things. Anyway, the performances are excellent and the screenplay of the journey to hell from the Tiger and its crew is gripping. My vote is eight. They come from consumers of all those Allied war movies that justifiably end in triumph and fireworks, with kisses and cheers all around. But for Germany, WW II ended in horror and shame, and that is the story of this movie, writ small in a single claustrophobic Tiger tank. Stroy lacks also polishing and doesn’t make sense 75% of the film.
