Don’t be put off by its structural and narrative shortcomings. This is still a very watchable, gripping and sometimes moving portrait of men at war, and likely the most realistic ever depiction of a second world war tank crew. Go to Full Review

The film is morally complex in a way that makes it genuinely challenging to watch, largely because it commits fully to telling a WWII story from the German point of view. Go to Full Review

"The Tank" follows a unique narrative path marked by clever foreshadowing and intriguing moral reflections, finishing up with a bold final act that immediately calls for a second viewing. Go to Full Review

'Der Tiger' trades battlefield spectacle for moral decay and existential dread. Claustrophobic and technically impressive, it raises sharp questions about guilt and obedience, but struggles to turn its heavy ideas into compelling drama. Go to Full Review

Claudio C @Claudio666 50m Deserved a Better Ending (12,281 - 16 Feb 2026) In 1943, after the battle of Stalingrad, the tiger is ready to leave the front with his crew – Lt. Philip Gerkens; gunner Christian; radio operator Keilig; loader Michel; and the driver Helmut – through the Dnieper bridge, which will be bombed. Helmut speeds up and while repairing the tank, they are assigned to the classified Operation Labyrinth, to retrieve Colonel Paul von Hardenburg from a bunker in the front. They journey to hell begins. "Der Tiger", a.k.a. "The Tank" (2025) could have been a masterpiece with a better ending. The claustrophobic set inside the tank recalls "Das Boat" (1981), but the twist to a supernatural conclusion does not work well like, for example, in "Jacob's Ladder" (1990) where the viewer sees strange things. Anyway, the performances are excellent and the screenplay of the journey to hell from the Tiger and its crew is gripping. My vote is eight. Title (Brazil): "O Tanque de Guerra" ("The War Tank") See more Kenneth L 7h This movie was not what I was expecting and won't be for everyone. The best way I can describe it as something like Apocalypse Now set in WWII. See more Stewart N @Stanjakill 1d Excellent movie, great cinematography/realism wrt the tank, good pacing, authentic dialogue and a really cool twist at the end. I’ve seen many war movies and this is one of my all time favourites. See more Ben S. @BenShipley Feb 10 Ignore most of the complaints about the ending. They come from consumers of all those Allied war movies that justifiably end in triumph and fireworks, with kisses and cheers all around. But for Germany, WW II ended in horror and shame, and that is the story of this movie, writ small in a single claustrophobic Tiger tank. Not for the light-hearted, but an important statement all the same. See more Pete D @Supernaut42 Feb 8 The idea is good, but it fails. Partly looks like fanfiction shot in a backyard. Stroy lacks also polishing and doesn’t make sense 75% of the film. At the end i wondered if it turns out to be a zombie movie 😂 See more Johnnie I @Vladimir_Poutine Feb 8 I’ve been saying for years that they should make a film based on a Tiger Tank crew and finally it was manifested for me! Love seeing historical war films from different points of view, and loved the whole dark and claustrophobic atmosphere of this film. See more Read all reviews
