More shallow than The Shallows, and lacking the depth of even Deep Blue Sea, this has chuckle-worthy moments but will be forgotten roughly 47 metres down in the lower-echelons of shark cinema.

Nothing in Thrash is going to wow Steven Spielberg, and its adherence to plot logic is elastic to say the least. But as bloody, dumb shark thrillers go, it stays afloat.

It was nothing but trash. Lol. Horrible acting. Horrible storyline with idiotic characters. I can appreciate a bad horror movie but this wasn’t even bad yet entertaining. It was just bad. Only watched for about 20 minutes before turning it off.

Way better than it had any right to be. Way more fun than expected. Some of the shark shots were shockingly impressive. There is a sequence early on where the lead actress is caught in a flooding car that was excellent. I had a good time with this movie all the way through.

The fact I actually sat through the movie says more about how bored I was than the movie itself. As a short series it might have worked better, but that wouldn't make it any good. The main plot point of bad flood is fine, but it doesn't need as many sub-stories and character arcs in such a short time. It's also extremely hard to suspend disbelief when it is just strange all around.

Lazy retread of a much better movie (with crocs instead of sharks) called Crawl. A Netflix exclusive (think straight to video) with some of the dumbest characters to ever exist in a film that make you want to root for the sharks. Sharks CGI looks terrible as usual. Flooding/hurricane CGI decent. Unbelievable. Predictable. Dumb.

I'm giving this a 'good' rating. Why it got such a low rating from the critics is puzzling. The characters were well played, especially Djimon Hounsou. The music was foot-tapping. Production design good. And the special effects were quite realistic. The toxic bubba dad was a little irritating. The addition of the sharks was a tad dumb but, if you can get past the fact this was no Jaws or Citizen Kane, then you'll like it.
