Nothing in Thrash is going to wow Steven Spielberg, and its adherence to plot logic is elastic to say the least. But as bloody, dumb shark thrillers go, it stays afloat. Go to Full Review

This is a Netflix and Chomp movie, just 80 minutes long (if you don’t count the closing credits), and the compact run time does more than keep “Thrash” from wearing out its welcome. Go to Full Review

As a basic disaster flick? “Thrash” works, and offers up less than 90 minutes of admirably silly and occasionally chilling action, even if it could stand to take a bigger bite out of the story. Go to Full Review

A messy, low-stakes shark thriller that rarely thrills, but its sheer absurdity makes it mildly entertaining. Go to Full Review

This movie shouldn’t really work, and in a lot of ways, it doesn’t. However, I had a decent amount of fun watching what doubles as a disaster movie and a shark-attack flick. Go to Full Review

In a streaming landscape increasingly cluttered with content that wants desperately to be taken seriously, there’s something almost refreshing about a movie that has absolutely no such ambitions. It’s trash. It knows it’s trash. It showed up anyway. Go to Full Review

Bill T. @btreakle 1h “Thrash” This is a brand new film from 2026 a story about surviving a category 5 hurricane and all that that entails. The picture was very well done with great cinema photography, Great sets and setting realistic looking sharks and flooding waters. Story of survival. Now I’ve seen hundreds of these kinds of movies in the past but I really felt this one really had a handle on it what it’s like to be in a disaster. Great cast and great sound don't miss this one. See more Oz S @Ozsoffy 3h This feels like a pure streaming-era thriller built from the ground up to grab quick attention. The plot is silly, the logic barely holds together, and many scenes seem designed mainly for flashy trailer moments and random hookups rather than story. It even gives off an "AI-generated script" vibe with predictable beats and thin characters. Still, there’s some dumb fun here if you switch off your brain and enjoy the chaos. Not good by any serious measure, but mildly entertaining in a guilty-pleasure way. Overall, mostly garbage… yet oddly watchable. 🍿 See more Shane D @RT24048247 12h A passable disaster/creature feature. However, the film suffers in two ways- First, by showing the creature too quickly and without building enough tension before the *literal* bloodbath begins (although I'm sure for some viewers this will be a positive); secondly by not picking a solid direction (delivering both comedy and classic terror). Personally, I preferred the comic elements, and wish it had gone even more slapstick - there's a particularly funny Edgar-Wright-esque sequence near the end, with the best comic performances coming from the film's three talented young performers, playing a trio of foster care kids. All of the performances were well done, with some interesting (albeit underdeveloped) characters. The practical effects were fun, and the CGI was *mostly* non-jarring, with a surprisingly coherent storyline throughout. No spoilers, but there is also a hint of a sequel, and I wouldn't mind one, especially if it leaned a bit more into that occasional campy self-awareness. See more Christine K. @sci-fi-equestrian 14h I really liked it! But I like shark movies is it the best movie ever? No. Not even the best shark movie but better than a lot of other shark movies. Is there some predictability? Yes. It’s a shark movie. I’m not sure what some people expect. People get eaten by sharks and the core characters live. Liked the development of the story and the characters. See more Natalie R @RT71488147 15h Worst movie I’ve ever seen. It’s embarrassing that this made the Netflix top 10. Going to cancel my Netflix membership since their best stuff is SLOP. See more Adam G. @maxamoo 16h Boring just boring did AI make this? See more Read all reviews
