3/5
A scrappy but endearing documentary about mostly female artists and a traditionally feminine art form. Go to Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times Jun 23, 2016
You have almost certainly never seen a better documentary about yarn than "Yarn." It isn't perfect - it's a little too airy and artsy in spots - but still, thread and string should be jealous. Go to Full Review Amy Brady Village Voice Jun 23, 2016
The film offers fascinating insight into what yarn can do in the talented hands of those determined to elevate mere craft to high art. Go to Full Review Rachel Brook One Room With A View Mar 12, 2019

Though imperfectly woven together, Yarn is a soothing and occasionally insightful watch. Go to Full Review Norman Wilner NOW Toronto Oct 20, 2016

Yarn is a charming if superficial look at the state of crafting around the world, as represented by four very different artists who work in knitting and crochet. Go to Full Review Janet Smith Georgia Straight Oct 12, 2016
As visually resplendent as that crazy pink-and-orange afghan your grandma made you. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Balgran T @RT74977499 Jun 18, 2017 Interesting to see the knitting and crocheting art forms but disappointed no mention was made of tapestry weaving, one of the greatest art forms using yarn See more Jun 18, 2017 Visually this movie is beautiful. The artists they profile are very interesting. The only reason it's not a 5star for me is the bizarre narration that doesn't have anything to do with the artists' passion and mission. Poetic, but completely unnecessary and distracting. See more Feb 13, 2017 Very good international film on contemporary fabric art and Yarn. It portrays 4 artists and their uses of thread.
