Road House is a REALLY fun movie. It has a lot of good action with a strong, emotional core at the center of it all. The film shines thanks to the performances of Patrick Swayze and Kelly Lynch. The chemistry of both their characters is really felt and is the beating heart of the movie. I’m only giving this 4 and 1/2 stars because as good as the action is, it can be QUITE violent and a little gory. But, if you can get past that, Road House is a good time. We miss you, Patrick Swayze 😢. Both films tell the same story—a skilled bouncer cleaning up a corrupt bar—but the remake adds tension and sleek direction. While neither may be a rewatch staple, the original is slightly stronger due to Swayze’s legendary performance, and the remake succeeds as a modern homage. Both are worth seeing for action fans. See more Franklin M @RT07648735 Nov 7 After hearing about this movie for years I finally decided to watch it. I love Patrick Swayze and Kelly Lynch, but what a supreme waste of time. It is an almost scene-by-scene remake of the original Walking Tall, with a tough guy trying to clean up a dirty bar. Second, there is zero -- maybe less than zero -- chance that a physician would go for a guy like Dalton. I'm guessing that was why the made him a PhD -- to seem like a doctor would in any way be attracted to him -- since the PhD nonsense served no other purpose in the movie.
