Gentle farmer Arthur Hoggett (James Cromwell) wins a piglet named Babe (Christine Cavanaugh) at a county fair. Narrowly escaping his fate as Christmas dinner when Farmer Hoggett decides to show him at the next fair, Babe bonds with motherly border collie Fly (Miriam Margolyes) and discovers that he too can herd sheep. But will the other farm animals, including Fly's jealous husband Rex, accept a pig who doesn't conform to the farm's social hierarchy?

...anyone with a low cuteness threshold might feel inclined to give Babe the widest possible berth. This would be a mistake, since the film is funny, engaging and almost entirely uncloying.

It is just one of the cutest and most beautiful movies I believe of all times. So well done for 1995 and it should be a must watch for all children to learn to see animals as someone, not just as something!

A decent surprise and a film that has aged well, even in 2026. Great humor, a fun but simple plot, and great vocal performances, can't go wrong with this one, and it's still fun!!!

I'm really surprised this family film is darker for smaller childrens but is really heartwarming, funny, joyful childrens film and incredible effects and good storytelling and outstanding cast including animals.

Synopsis
