When Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon discovers the resurgence of an ancient brotherhood known as the Illuminati, he flies to Rome to warn the Vatican, the Illuminati's most hated enemy. Joining forces with beautiful Italian scientist Vittoria Vetra, Langdon follows a centuries-old trail of ancient symbols in the hope of preventing the Illuminati's deadly plot against the Roman Catholic Church from coming to fruition.

Angels and Demons is a fast-paced thrill ride, and an improvement on the last Dan Brown adaptation, but the storyline too often wavers between implausible and ridiculous, and does not translate effectively to the big screen.

‘Angels And Demons’ does have a few ‘James Bond-how-could-you-possibly-manage-to-do-that?’ moments but overall works well. It leaves you constantly guessing (and more importantly actually caring) what happens next, is well written and beautifully captured

I understand the creative liberty often taken by movies doing book adaptations, but the changes made in this film.led to a cascade of interventions that made the movie such a detour and let down from the amazingness that is the book. It is like if I explained the coolest scenes of the book to someone who then decided to make a film without asking how these plot points connect in the slightest and also, for some reason, refused to do basic research on CERN and religous art history. This movie was made by jocks that wanted to just see things on fire or explode... which don't get me wrong, I did too. The imagery and descriptions in the book were something I wanted to see on the big screen. But this felt like a collection of action shots for a trailer over a well planned out movie.

For all the Vatican and church history sets, Angels & Demons borders on a ridiculous frenzy as Hanks figures out all the Illuminati clues on the fly.

As usual, never listen to the pro critics. They are too busy sucking up to their own image, or where the goodie jar is kept in the moment. Big surprise from the audience. Usually spot on, why the low grade. Moved well, lots of action, good plot, history lesson, crafty script, and, well, Hanks. 80% maybe?

Angels & Demons delivers a gripping follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, blending science, religion, and mystery with improved pacing and visual execution. Though fictional and controversial, the film presents its themes with cinematic flair, strong performances, and a more engaging narrative. I am surprised that the reviews of the film were so poorly received . There were some inconsistent scenes . Yet, overall if you’re ready to enjoy some quality time . Pull out the popcorn and forget reality.

Tom Hanks and Ewan McGregor are phenomenal! That's how you deliver a powerful plot twist. Ron Howard directed this movie and The Da Vinci Code [2006] with mastery...It's not an easy task due to the complexity of Dan Brown's stories and characters, but Ron really made me proud.
