Critics Consensus

Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston remain as attractive as ever, but The Bounty Hunter's formula script doesn't know what to do with them -- or the audience's attention.

Even considered as no more than an assembly-line Hollywood product, The Bounty Hunter falls well below factory standards.

There's so little chemistry between the two, they might as well have cast Mick Fleetwood and Samantha Fox and had done with it.

Here’s an actionized rom-com that isn’t action-packed, contains no believable romance, and isn’t particularly funny.

Overlong, trope-filled and derivative, there’s still an endearing charm to Milo’s puppyish dimwittery — and it boasts a proper movie villain, who with his chiselled cheekbones and air of real menace looks like an evil Max Headroom (ask your A.I. nan)

Never watched Friends, so no bias there. Not too impressed with her. Butler is better in this than the dumb action movies he makes now. Still, the best part is when she tases him. Should have been done at least five or six times more in the movie to make it worth watching.

The Bounty Hunter (2010) is a solid film of its era and, by 2026 standards, something of a hidden gem. Andy Tennant demonstrates his natural instinct for the romantic comedy genre, crafting a script that gives both Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston plenty of room to shine in their roles. While the film may not reach the heights of the great big city-set action-comedies or romantic-action-comedies of the 20th century, Tennant still delivers an entertaining story that stands out among many films of the 2010s. It doesn’t rely on relentless comedy or high-octane action, but instead succeeds through its character dynamics, charm, and lighthearted storytelling. Overall, it’s an enjoyable watch and certainly worth revisiting every few years, especially if you appreciate Andy Tennant’s earlier films or are a fan of Gerard Butler or Jennifer Aniston.

Not a great script. But a good laugh. And always fun to see Jennifer Aniston

The Bounty Hunter (2010) a crazy story of a guy who works in the bounty hunting business, he goes in search of his ex-wife to hand her over to the police. The synopsis of this movie is pretty stupid but it might please some people.
