Evan P @RT61326962 Aug 27 30 days of night is a very intense vampire film. The movie started off a little slow for me and I was a little confused at first, but then it all made sense. The vampires in this film were very cruel and aggressive. I really enjoyed the character Eben played by Josh Hartnett. The ending was alright in my opinion and I enjoyed this film and I would watch it again.. For one, I completely forgot how enjoyable it is to see a movie shot entirely on film, with thoughtful uses of contrast and color grading in almost every shot. It isn't entirely monochromatic or plastically artificial, like what I've been seeing in movies shot entirely in digital format in recent years. The old analog film format carries over something that feels more organic to my eyes while watching the movie. Also, my reactions to the characters are a bit different than my previous viewing. Especially with the main characters and a few supporting characters, they have a little bit of nuance and a purpose behind their behavior.
