Por fin, luego de tanto tiempo, veo algo bien hecho y eso sin contar a Anna Kendrick y Bryce Dallas Howard. Cásense conmigo, por favor! Una película que sí o sí, todos debemos ver en algún momento de nuestras vidas. Admito que en su momento no la vi, porque no sabía de lo que iba y no me apetecía una película de comedia, pero me doy cuenta que es mucho más que eso. Ahora les toca a ustedes. I can't deny that I felt empathy for the protagonist and reproached myself for the lack of understanding the world can offer to people dealing with the disease. I felt that Anna Kendrick was missing a bit. The therapist is likable, but I think she could have had more screen time to be considered a fully realized character. Joseph Gordon-Levitt gives a genuinely heartfelt performance, and Seth Rogen brings humor that actually feels natural rather than forced. What I appreciated most is how honest the film feels about dealing with something as serious as cancer—it doesn’t sugarcoat the fear or uncertainty, but it also finds moments of humor and hope in a believable way. The relationships, especially with friends and family, felt authentic and grounded. Overall, I’d give it a 9/10 for its emotional depth, strong performances, and perfect balance of humor and heart.
