"Abandoned Mine" is all that its title promises: something generic and empty, with the sense that much has been left behind.

The film is not without its moments, but it delivers what is to be expected: some minor PG-13 horror thrills with the minimum amount of blood and terror.

...it delivers a handful of creepy moments and the opening-credits montage of old newspaper accounts of the Jarvis family's fate is genuinely disturbing.

Against all logic, I enjoyed this PG-13 Halloween centered horror movie. The director achieved a moody atmosphere down in the mines. The story is clunky and the reveal really wasn't anything that a grade schooler couldn't guess, but the actors were genuine in their portrayals and somehow it just clicked for me. Nothing new or spectacular by any means, but it was watchable which is more than I can say for the last handful of horror movies I've seen.

Moments of creepiness, but overall just wasn't entertaining enough for me to recommend it.

The movie is well written and directed.. not violent, but very well paced, acted and directed, if nothing else, great fun for the entire family...
