For many years, Nathan Harper (Taylor Lautner) has had the uneasy feeling that life with his family isn't quite what it seems. His fears come true when he finds a picture of himself as a youngster on a missing-persons website, proof that the people he's called mom and dad his whole life are not his real parents. Critics Consensus

A soulless and incompetent action/thriller not even a veteran lead actor could save, let alone Taylor Lautner.

Abduction does little for Twilight's Taylor Lautner as he becomes a fish-out-of-water in this Bourne Identity-mirroring movie. Go to Full Review Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) Oct 18, 2011

The holes in the film's twist-filled story are often so big you could almost squeeze Lautner's sex appeal through them. Go to Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle Sep 30, 2011

Sorina S @RT84669565 6 days ago I don’t know why the rating is so low -_- I watched this so many times growing up with my family and friends. It’s a go to movie. Acting was great by Taylor. See more Justlewis99 T @Justlewis99 Sep 23, 2026 I dont see how this movie is rated so low its one of the best films ive seen great story line great action like ive watched this film so many times I feel like this should have a higher rating its a bit slow to start what isnt I guess this moive ahead of its time See more Nathan S. @RT67168179 Jun 24, 2026 Not great. Bad acting. See more Oaklee D @ODie63 Jun 22, 2026 After watching this film I'm convinced that Taylor Lautner cannot act his way out of a paper bag. This was far fetched brain rot that was full of holes and has the poorly aged stench of the early 2010's all over it. I did find this mildly entertaining but ONLY because it was so bad. There are so many better action flicks out there so give this one a miss. See more y Z @RT03491336 Mar 21, 2026 The only thing "wrong" with this movie is the TITLE. The poor reviews are because viewers thought they were going to watch a serious film like Liam Neeson’s "Taken". (That’s not the movie’s fault … the "critics" should’ve done their homework & gotten a clue from its PG-13 rating). This movie is geared for a high school or college audience (think of a more grown-up version of "Spy Kids"). It’s entertaining, fast-paced, has A-list actors, & is FUN ! I’m older than the intended audience, but I also love the Twilight movies because I can appreciate a high-quality movie even if the story or plot is for twenty-something viewers. Highly recommend, just keep in mind that "Abduction" isn’t a serious James Bond film & was made for young adults under 30 (…but sometimes that’s a good thing!) See more Tanaka C @Movielover101212 Jan 12, 2026 This was the worst movie I have ever watched, I couldn’t even finish it. The plot, ridiculous, the acting, wooden, the continuity errors unending. Needs to be taken off Netflix See more Read all reviews
