From an economics perspective the movie showcases the importance of individual and public choice, of individualism and cooperation, as the dictator can only manifest his power when everyone is following orders blindlessly, yet cooperation is needed to save everyone. As Z puts it in the end: The freedom of choice is, in itself, a virtue that has important consequences. It is mediocre and forgettable at times, and the film hasn't aged well with the animation too. The characters look kind of ugly and weird as well and I just prefer A Bug's Life better.
