Kevin P @RT55971421 Aug 24 A great biopic about the highly influential billionaire filmmaker and aviation pioneer Howard Hughes. The film is a love letter to the craft of making planes and old school Hollywood filmmaking. Martin Scorcese does a great job as always with the direction and cinematography. The cast is terrific. It's a fascinating character story about the extraordinary highs and lows of Howard Hughes and his relationship with Hollywood, the aviation industry, and stars like Katherine Hepburn. Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett are both fantastic as Howard Hughes and Katherine Hepburn. It's hard to watch Howard Hughes' OCD perfectionist filmmaking ambition skyrocket at the cost of his pockets and time. There are some very relatable OCD compulsive ritual scenes edited masterfully to communicate the intense urgency and uncertainty of an OCD episode. It's tragic how Howard locks himself in his home and turns into a recluse. The ending is bittersweet, showing that he will always be a complicated man.
