It’s not flawless by any means, but it knows exactly what kind of movie it is: pure, unapologetic fun. Martin Lawrence carries the entire film on his back. His comedic timing and energy keep every scene alive, even when the humor borders on ridiculous. He manages to bring Big Momma to life with exaggerated charm, balancing between tough and tender, and even when the prosthetics and fat suit look glaringly fake, the performance itself is so committed that you can’t help but laugh along.
